Restoring a 135+ year old home, a refreshed brand, and what's next for Alps
Alps Group has marked its fifth year in business with a move to a new home in Eden Terrace, Auckland (a restored house) alongside a full brand refresh and the launch of a new website. Together, the changes reflect how far the business has grown, and where it's heading.
Where we started
Alps began five years ago as a resin flooring specialist. Since then the work has grown steadily: into waterproofing, concrete repair, and protective and decorative coatings. Today we describe ourselves as specialist partners in property maintenance and enhancement - the trade that carries out the work, whether we're brought in by a contractor or engaged directly by a property owner.
Old sweet home
Our new base is a roughly 130-year-old house, one of the original homes in the area, which we've restored and fitted out ourselves. It gives our crews a proper base to operate from, room to grow the team, and a place we're proud to host clients and partners. Doing up an old building was a fitting first project for the space - restore, protect and elevate, applied to our own four walls.
In good company
We share the building with El Contractor, now part of Alps Group, and with New Zealand artist and colourist Amanda Gruenwald, whose studio is downstairs and whose work hangs throughout the space. It makes for a workplace that reflects how we think about our craft.
A brand built around how we work
The brand refresh brings our identity into line with the business we've become. Our positioning — Restore. Protect. Elevate. maps directly to what we do: restore worn and damaged surfaces, protect them against water, wear and slips, and elevate them to suit how a space is used. Maintenance and enhancement, in plain terms.

Five years in, our ambition is to keep growing as a specialist - deepening our expertise across surfaces, waterproofing and concrete, and building out our newer electrical and automation capability. We want to be the specialist that contractors trust to bring in, and that owners call direct. To the clients, contractors and suppliers who've supported us through the first five years: thank you.
